Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

As a child my family often watched one of my mom's favorite movies, The Sound of Music. In this movie the song My Favorite Things tells of "snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes". This treasury has been created with SHE Team items that capture the feel of these frosty, white winter days which truly are a few of my favorite things.

When Summer Turns to Winter

It is a regular practice of ours to commit various verses to memory. Be it scripture, parts of plays, historical speeches or poetry, we always feel such a sense of satisfaction when the work is memorized. This is one of our current poems and a few selections from the talented Sheteam.

Something Told the Wild Geese

Something told the wild geese
It was time to go.
Though the fields lay golden
Something whispered "Snow."








Leaves were green and stirring,
Berries, luster glossed,
But beneath warm feathers
Something cautioned "Frost."








All the sagging orchards
Steamed with amber spice,
But each wild breast stiffened
At remembered ice.









Something told the wild geese
It was time to fly-
Summer sun was on their wings
Winter in their cry.
